![]() ![]() CPUs and GPU's, two processors separated by 65 million bytes of code have just been suddenly thrown back into the mix together with KSP2 and struggling to keep up. I don't want to jump to any conclusions, but look. Alan Grant : The world has just changed so radically, and we're all running to catch up. It also recently came to light that while. Grant, if there's one person here who could appreciate what I'm trying to do.ĭr. The kerbal space program may have been a great idea, but it didn’t actually change much of anything. At the time, Kerbal Space Program 2 was slated to be out sometime before March 31, 2021, but after multiple delays its now not expected until early 2023. Ellie Sattler : Well, the question is, how can you know anything about an extinct software project? And therefore, how could you ever assume that you can control it? I mean, you have code in that software fixing the unknown, you deleted pieces of it because it looked stupid, but these are aggressive bug fixes for things you have no idea what they were for, and they'll show up again to show themselves, killing frames or crashing the game possibly. What you call exploitation, I call the rape of the gaming world.ĭr. Ian Malcolm : What's so great about exploitation? It's a violent, penetrative act that scars the community that adores it. I mean, how can we stand in the light of exploitation, and not act?ĭr. John Hammond : I simply don't understand this Luddite attitude, especially from a PC gamer. Kerbals had their shot and nature selected them for extinction. ![]() This isn't some cartoon character that was obliterated by woke culture, or the sexual misbehavior of it's creators. John Hammond : If I was to create a flock of kerbals in a marketing video, you wouldn't have anything to say.ĭr. kerbals are on the verge of extinction.ĭr. Ian Malcolm : Yeah, yeah, but your developers were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should. Our developers have done things in kerbal which nobody's ever done before.ĭr. John Hammond : I don't think you're giving us our due credit. ![]() Ian Malcolm : you're selling it, you wanna sell it. You stood on the shoulders of geniuses to accomplish something as fast as you could, and before you even knew what you had, you patented it, and packaged it, and slapped an EA tag on it, and nowĭr. You didn't earn the knowledge for yourselves, so you don't take any responsibility for it. You read what others had coded and you took the next step. Um, I'll tell you the problem with the game that you're using here, it didn't require any discipline to attain it. Ian Malcolm : Don't you see the danger, John, inherent in what you're doing here? Kerbal is the most awesome space sim the planet's ever seen, but you wield it like a kid that's found his dad's gun.ĭonald Gennaro : It's hardly appropriate to start hurling generalizations.ĭr. I want to hear every viewpoint, I really do.ĭr. John Hammond : No, no, Donald, Donald, Donald. They're a lot worse.ĭonald Gennaro : Now, wait a second now, we haven't even seen the next release. Malcolm, but I think things are a little bit different then you and I had feared.ĭr. staggers me.ĭonald Gennaro : Well thank you, Dr. Ian Malcolm : Gee, the lack of humility before the community that's being displayed here, uh.
