If you’re going after a mild build, freeing up some ponies is certainly going to prove worthwhile. Still, if you’re going through the trouble of planting it in anything, you might as well work it over some to make it even meaner than it already is. With the ability to reliably turn out an excess of 400 horsepower around 7,000 RPM in its natural state, it’s going to deliver more than enough thrills in just about every swap as-is. Those bolt-ons consist of a large-aperture cold-air intake from JLT Performance, a pair of Corsa Off-Road Long-Tube Headers, and a Corsa Xtreme Cat-Back Exhaust. What they came up with in the process is a fairly easy, not-prohibitively-expensive guide to making Camaro-killing power with some straightforward bolt-ons and PCM software tuning. Still, there’s always more to be had from any volume-production factory motor, and the guys over at American Muscle were determined to eclipse the 500-wheel-horsepower mark while retaining the Coyote’s natural aspiration.
